Renew Your Mind

Have you ever wondered why you do the things you do? The thoughts we think, especially repetitive ones, influence our actions & can even impact our physical bodies. Identifying unhealthy thoughts (or even lies we've come to believe) & replacing them with positive, healthier thoughts is one of the main goals of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

About

Welcome!

My name is Tiffany Telesca, & I earned a Master of Education Degree in Counseling & Human Development from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas (a small Baptist university). I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) in the State of Texas as well as a Certified School Counselor (CSC). I have served in numerous professional settings such as elementary & secondary public schools, a collegiate graduate program, Christian counseling settings, behavioral health insurance companies, as well as establishing Genesis Integrative Counseling & Wellness, PLLC. I have had the tremendous blessing of working with individuals from the ages of 5 to 82 in individual sessions, couples, & family sessions. The focus of my professional career has been to serve as a resource of hope to those in need as I consider myself a faith-based/Biblical counselor with a personal relationship in Jesus Christ who I feel is the source of all lasting healing. I feel I have developed an integrative approach to counseling over the years as I do not think one counseling approach/theory is adequate to address every concern/area of struggle that we face. Some of my main counseling techniques/theories are Cognitive Behavioral in nature, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, & Systems perspective as we all live in some form of community—whether in person or online. On a personal note, my incredible husband, Ben, & I have been married for over 28 years & have been blessed with two amazing sons. Tristan serves in the Navy, & Alexander is an attorney in Kansas. Wonderful Counselor . . . Jesus “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given . . . And His Name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 NKJV Lasting . . . eternal . . . healing begins with having a relationship with Jesus Christ, & having a relationship with Him is as simple as A, B, C! A=Admit that you have made poor choices which have injured yourself & others. "(F)or all have sinned & fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23 B=Believe in your heart there is a better Way, & ask Jesus to save you & show you that healthier way. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one & only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 "'Everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved.'" Romans 10:13 C=Confess to others that you have asked Jesus to be your Savior & are choosing to make Him Lord of your life through your words & actions each day. "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' & believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9 A simple prayer might be something like, "Jesus, I've messed up & need Your help. I can't do this on my own anymore. Please be with me & show me how to make better choices in my life from this day forward." Some next steps might be to connect with a local church & begin reading the Bible. Spending time each day talking with & listening to God is a wonderful way to get to know Him better as well. Scripture quotations are from the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible unless noted otherwise.
